Calm help at the exact point where the course stopped making sense

A good tutoring session is not a performance. It is a careful conversation around the student’s actual course: the lecture notes, the assignment question, the confusing example, the test that is coming up too quickly.

I look for the moment where the logic broke, then rebuild it in plain language. Once the idea clicks, we practise the kinds of questions the student will actually see, so confidence comes from understanding and repetition rather than memorizing steps.

A steadier, clearer path forward when your child is capable but overwhelmed by pace, notation, or test pressure.

For students

A place to ask the question you did not get to ask in class, then work through it until the method feels usable.

In a session, we usually work through four things

Start with the student’s real material: slides, homework, quizzes, labs, textbook examples, or past tests.
Translate the concept into plain language before touching the algebra, calculator, spreadsheet, or formula sheet.
Practise course-style questions until the student can explain the next step without guessing.
Leave with a clear plan for what to review, what to practise, and what to ask next time.

I founded HTM Tutors to give students calm, course-specific help when math, statistics, finance, or quantitative work starts to feel overwhelming.

I’m a former high school math teacher with university teaching assistant experience, and I’ve provided private tutoring since 2008. In sessions, I focus on the student’s actual course material: clear explanations, patient step-by-step guidance, and practice that builds real confidence for high school, college, and university students.
